The English Catholics in exile in Europe created whatare known as ‘English Colleges’, Jesuit seminars where they were ordained to the priesthood, with the risky mission of secretly returning to their country to restore Catholicism. In Spain rose three of them, in Valladolid, Seville and Madrid, under the protection of the crown. Their founder, Robert Persons, was the owner of this book, which he probably bequeathed to the library of the College of Seville upon its foundation in 1592.
